Now...three years into Tennent, Winkelman & Associates, I see how important this information is and can be - especially when there is an injury or death.

Ron Winkelman

Industrial Engineer and Tire Forensic Expert

Ron Winkelman has extensive experience in the design, manufacturing, quality and testing of tires.  

Thirty four years working for a major tire manufacturer as a tire design engineer for Commercial, Light Truck, Motorcycle and ATV tires has provided Ron Winkelman with critical skills in area of tire forensics.   Additionally, Ron has  worked with various OEM's such as Honda, Polaris, Suzuki, to design and test tires for new vehicles.

Ron's experience while working as a tire engineer also included performing forensic analysis on production, development and failed customer returns to determine root cause of tire failure.  His tire testing experience consists of indoor lab testing and at numerous outdoor tracks both domestic and international.

While working at Tennent, Winkelman & Associates, Mr. Winkelman has examined and written numerous tire failure reports covering Commercial, Light Truck, ATV, OTR and Footprint forensic analysis.

John Arlington

​John has always had a passion for manufacturing and designing products better.  Early in his career he worked for 5 years as the Quality Assurance Manager and Product Engineer for Injected Molded Products Corporation which had 3 plants in Western NY employing 200 people.   These companies were high speed 30 second cycle time injection molders of thermoplastic, thermoset, plastic and rubber products and there he found a passion for improving quality, cycle time, cost, and working with people as a team.  John being the QA manager for the 3 small plants was responsible for all internal and customer quality as well as Technical Engineer responsible for setting up machine specifications to produce components within standards for quality and cycle time.

For the past 34 years John has been involved in the manufacturing, design, set up, and monitoring of TBR, Motorcycle, ATV and Passenger tires under several job positions and titles at Goodyear Dunlop and Sumitomo Rubber USA.   The passion to improve has stayed with me over the 34 years to constantly try to improve the products for quality, performance, and cost.  One thing I have learned about tires and continue to preach:  “The Tire Never Lies” and will always tell you what the problem is and the direction to improve it.   You just have to follow its lead and be willing to go to the source and do it.    

 John has worked for Goodyear Dunlop tire corp. and Sumitomo Rubber USA on all of these product lines and is experienced in tire design, tire building, mold design, curing, finishing, uniformity, xray, sheorography, endurance and high speed testing, cut section analysis, footprint, analysis reviews of failed tires, curing bladders, cure studies, rubber testing, extrusion, calendaring, mixing, cutting, bead winding.   

John has been fortunate to work with many great people throughout his career that have taught, encouraged, and driven him to always try to improve personally and professionally. 
 

Jeremy Washburn

Jeremy is an US Navy veteran, and has tire experience from manufacturing, prototype development, finite element analysis, and project management.  Combined, over 20 years of both practical and theoretical mechanical experience.

Jeremy studied Mechanical Engineering at the University at Buffalo, was team captain on the Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) team, worked with the Baja SAE team, and chose electives specifically focusing on Vehicle Dynamics.

Jeremy worked at two tire manufacturers from 2008 to 2021.  In that time, he was involved in almost every aspect of tire design and development, from material preparation, concept design, and vehicle testing.  As a Motorcycle Tire Development Engineer, he oversaw all motorcycle tire development builds for replacement, OE, and race tires.  Building techniques ranged from bias, radial, jointless band radial, and gear pump.  As a Motorcycle Tire Design Engineer, he would computer model tires that involved several theoretical approaches, results were verified through tire building and testing.  As a Passenger Car and Light Tire Design Engineer he conducted benchmark testing of competitor tires, designed prototype tread designs, did profile comparisons, evaluated tire construction changes, and compared compound changes.

Jeremy also has well over 20 years of racing experience including road racing, autocross, track days, ice racing, rallycross, and circle track.  Jeremy has raced on a variety of surface conditions including asphalt, concrete, dirt, mud, snow and ice on frozen lakes at facilities ranging from a farmer’s field to world class racetracks.  As the chief instructor for regional autocross, Jeremy has driven approximately 100 different vehicles at speed, ranging from stock to open wheel, rear wheel drive, front wheel drive, all-wheel drive, mid-engine, and has ridden in hundreds more.

Kathleen Contrino is a retired attorney who comes to Tennent, Winkelman & Associates with extensive web design, IT, social media experience, as well as project management and legal expertise.  Kathleen also serves as office manager.
